* Other hand which is not clicking should be on the hip
* All pupils should now be facing the front.
Spin to the right by stepping with right foot, crossing left foot over so as to face the back and back to the front and clap with hands up to the right. (4 beats)
Repeat to the left (4 beats)
Run on the spot (approx 4 beats) and on the word ‘hair’ point to your hair with both fingers with right foot out and pointed.
On knees crawl forwards for 8 beats approx (slowly) until the word ROAR where all pupils do a ROAR pose.(Teacher help with timing here)
Stand up and skip backwards into their groups.
Chorus: ‘I Just Can’t Wait to be King’: Slap right knee, slap left knee and star jump looking at the roof on the work King.
Run on the spot for approx 4 beats. Both sides i.e 2 groups on each side jump to face each other shaking their fingers and hips! Repeat facing the other side (i.e a half turn) Other hand on their hip. Or face your partner and jump 180 degrees.
Face the front and on the word STOP, link fingers of hand together and arms outstretched and jump backwards while moving arms for 2 beats.
In original groups (i.e 1-4) join hands in a circle and go round for 8 and back for 8 on ‘We can run around all day’
‘I think it’s time that you and I arranged a heart to heart’
At the above line, point to your watch on the word ‘time’, 2 fingers pointing to the audience with arms stretched out and on ‘heart to heart’ stand back to back with a partner with arms folded.
Skip in and out of everyone waving arms in the air/could pretend to be all different kinds of animals.
At 1.30 on the CD or on the word ‘service’ they come back and kneel on the floor facing the audience.
On the word ‘child’ slap the floor for 7 beats.
Stand up for the chorus: ‘I just can’t wait to be King’
Skip in and out of everyone during the music coming back for ‘everyone look left’: hand to forehead and point left foot, repeat to the right. On ‘everywhere you look now’ point finger with arm stretched out from left to right. On the word spotlight: make a star shape and look at the roof.
Shout NOT YET pointing finger at the audience. Both sides facing each other but looking at the audience.
Either skip in and out of everyone again or pupils join hands in 2 rows dropping hands as they skip backwards to allow 2nd row through taking a bow as they come forward. (24 beats)
Chorus: I just can’t wait to be King: Slap right leg, left leg and star jump (x2)
Final Chorus: Start on the floor, right leg up, left leg up, wave arms in the air until the word King when they do ANY jump with arms in the air.
Start walking away from the audience and at the last minute turn round and ROAR!
