Active Schools Skipping Challenge
The Active Schools Skipping Challenge helped children right across the Western Isles to polish up their skipping skills – and try and win prizes for their school! Every Primary school from the Butt to Barra took part.
All P4 – P7 children were provided with their own skipping rope to practice with every day. Once per week they had the chance to undertake a two minute timed test – to see how much they had progressed.
Active Schools staff supported the project – including showing youngsters a skipping masterclass by British boxer David Hayes, kindly supplied by Sky Sports.
Here are some examples of keen skippers from schools across the islands.
We are very grateful to Donald Macleod, Integration Manager, CnES Education Department for supporting this project.
