Building Warrant Applications

Site Inspection

Following the issue of a Building Warrant, there is a legal requirement that you or your agent notify the Building Standards section, in writing, within seven days of the date on which work commences on site, in order that an inspection of the foundations might be made.

You must also notify the Building Standards section when drainage is ready for inspection and testing. This gives the Building Standards staff an opportunity to carry out the necessary inspections during construction and to approve all necessary drain tests, to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with the Building Regulations and the conditions under which the Building Warrant was granted. Failure on your part to comply with these requirements could result in works, which have been covered over having to be exposed, or in the Comhairle refusing to issue an Acceptance of Certificate of Completion.
