NOTICE OF ELECTION – NESS COMMUNITY COUNCIL

An Election is to be held for the return of four Community Councillors to fill the vacancies on Ness Community Council.

To be eligible for election to the Community Council, the person must be resident in, and registered as a Local Government elector in the Ness Community Council area.  Each nominee for election must be supported by a proposer who must be resident within and registered as a Local Government elector in the Ness Community Council area.

Nomination papers may be obtained from Returning Officer, Council Offices, Sandwick Road, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1 2BW and must be delivered to the Returning Officer, not later than 4.00pm on Wednesday 28 May 2008.

Withdrawals of persons nominated must be intimated at the address to which the nomination papers were delivered, not later than 4.00pm on Friday 30 May 2008.

Election to the Community Council shall be conducted by postal ballot, unless the Election is uncontested.
