Port Safety Information

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is the local Authority and also exercises jurisdiction as Harbour Authority of 32 Harbour Areas throughout the Western Isles under “TheComhairle nan Eilean Siar (Various Harbours) Harbour Revision Order 2002”.

Within these harbour areas the Comhairle owns and manages a number of small commercial fishing and Transportation ports.

These facilities are unmanned and users should ensure that all risk to themselves, other users and the environment are kept as low as reasonably practical .

There is a programmed inspection regime in force, but we are well aware that damage to pier furniture can happen in the interim. We therefore ask that faults be reported to the Harbour Master via the contact information given on the home page
