Board Members
Hamish Fraser
Director of Environmental Services with Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar for over 24 years, Hamish now retired after serving in local government for almost 40 years. At present he is a member of the Management Committee of Tighean Innse Gall, and has previously served as a member of the Children's Panel, Social Security Tribunals and the Western Isles Health Board. His varied skills and experience are a valuable asset to the Board.
Calum MacKay
Currently Chairman of the Western Isles Residents Forum, Calum has been heavily involved in the setting up and day to day running of the local Cearns Residents Association. He has a good understanding of the Housing procedures and has been involved in rent setting and Environmental projects alike.
David Blaney (Vice Chair)
A retired Bank Officer, David workded in the finance sector for 20 years. He is a committed individual and his many activities include Director of the South Uist Community Company, Treasurer to Uist Citizens Advice Bureau and the Sout Uist Development Group and a committee member of BTNM. He also represented his area as Councillor from 1994 - 2003. His experience in all these fields will bring a wealth of knowledge to the Shadow Board.
George Lonie (Chairman)
A councillor for the Coulregrein area since 1990, Chair of Housing committee since 1998 and as Chairman of the Hebridean Housing Partnership's Shadow Board George has a keen interest in the Stock Transfer process. He has been Chief Steward at Caledonian MacBrayne for 27 years and was a founder member of the Cearns Tenants Association (largest housing scheme in the Western Isles).
Charles Nicolson
Charlie is a Team Leader in the Community Education sector of Sustainable Communities. With his direct links to the community, in particular the youth and his representation on the Stornoway Trust where he is Chairman, this enables Charlie to recognise the aspirations of the community of the Western Isles.
Archibald K Campbell
Archibald is the councillor for the Paible area since 1998. A retired teacher, but heavily involved in other agencies - Director of Western Isles Tourist Board and a member of the EIS, with a broad experience of preparing policies for the Education Department, his contribution to the Board will be well-regarded.
Jane Mackinnon
Jane is Manager of the rural sub Post Office in Barra. An active member of the Barra & Vatersay Housing Association, her experience of working on this committee enables her to represent the views of tenants on a small island community.
Angela Quail
Angela became a member of the Board in December 2005. She is also a member of the Bayhead Association and Residents Forum as well as being Secretary of the Stornoway Area Neighbourhood Watch Association. She ran her own florist business for many years, although retired she still gives flower arranging demonstrations to various community groups. Angela's wish is to contribute to the aims of the Partnership for the benefit of the community.
Neil Campbell
Recently appointed as Councillor for the Laxdale Ward, Neil is a project engineer who has worked on many oil related heavy fabrication projects in the construction yards of the North of Scotland. More recently, employed as a Technician for Scottish Water, he has gained business skills from working as self-employed and as a consultant job finder for an Enterprise Company. Neil is also a member of the Cearns Community Association.
Kevin Paterson
Kevin is currently Vice-chair of the Western Isles Residents Forum and tenant representative for North Lochs under The Village Voice Scheme. He is also a member of The Scottish Government's Region 9 (Western Isles and Glasgow) National Tenant Engagement Committee. He became a tenant representative for Lewis at the HHP 2007 A.G.M. He has a background in I.T. Project Management.
George Banks
Gerry MacLeod
Gerry MacLeod is a councillor for Barraigh, Bhatasarsaigh, Eirisgeigh agus Uibhist a Deas. He was Chairman of Buidheann Tigheadas na Meadhanan, the South Uist housing association, until it merged with HHP in 2007. He has previously worked as a development officer in several posts including Initiative at the Edge for Lochboisdale and Eriskay. He is a founder member, director and company secretary of Lochboisdale Amenity Trust a group established in 1998 to improve the amenities of the Lochoisdale area.
