FINANCE

Budget Strategy and Council Tax 2001/02 - 2003/04

With reference to items of 3, 4 and 5 of the Minute of Meeting of 30 January 2001 the Chief Executive and the Director of Finance submitted a Joint Report detailing the Budget Strategy and Council Tax for 2001/02 - 2003/04 together with the draft Revenue Budget for 2001/02.

It was agreed to recommend that:

(1) the draft budget book be approved;

(2) the budgetary assumptions detailed in Appendix 1 to the Report be approved;

(3) the Council Tax level for 2001/02 at Band D be £765;

(4) the assumed Council Tax Level for 2002/03 and 2003/04 at Band D be £815 and £867 respectively;

(5) the additional allocations above the Cash Planning Limits to service committee budgets as detailed in Appendix 2 to the Report be approved;

(6) services committees should revisit their priorities in the light of the additional allocations;

(7) Management Team be invited to prioritise previously tabled savings as detailed in the Report; and

(8) the draft budget of income and expenditure for 2001/02, together with the growth and savings proposals, be approved insofar as the Committee's interest was concerned.
