PERSONNEL

It was agreed, under the terms of Section 50A (4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, the public, including the press, be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following Item on the grounds that exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A of the Act would be disclosed, namely, information relating to a particular employee, former employee or applicant to become an employee of, or a particular office-holder or former office-holder or applicant to become an office-holder under the Comhairle.

The Report of Applications received for the post of Director of Corporate Services was submitted and noted, together with the job advertisement, job description and person specification for the post.

The Comhairle proceeded to interview the following candidates:

Ms Helen Froud

Ms Jean Hudson

Ms Fiona Macleod

Mr John Clark

Mr Andrew Mackenzie

Ms Lesley McDonald.

After the interviews and a full discussion of the relative merits of the candidates, it was agreed to offer the post of Director of Corporate Services to Ms Helen Froud who held the post of Senior Manager: KPMG - Public Sector/TMP Worldwide, on the basis of immediate acceptance of the offer.

Ms Froud was invited into the meeting and formally offered the post of Director of Corporate Services on the basis of immediate acceptance of the offer.

Ms Froud indicated her acceptance of the offer.
