Erect Windfarm - Grimshader, Isle of Lewis

The Director for Sustainable Communities submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission for three wind turbine generators, a meteorological mast and ancillary development at a site located on the Stornoway - Grimshader Road (B897), approximately 0.8km south of its junction with the Stornoway - Harris Road. The Report gave background information and commented on the application.

It was agreed to recommend that the Director for Sustainable Communities be authorised to grant planning permission for the erection of three wind turbine generators, a meteorological mast and ancillary development at a site located on the Stornoway - Grimshader Road (BA97), approximately 0.8 km south of its junction with the Stornoway - Harris Road, subject to the conditions circulated with the Report.

Erect Office Building at Shawbost, Isle of Lewis (DS21.01)

The Director for Sustainable Communities submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission for the erection of an office building to be used in terms of Classes 2 and 4 of the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) (Scotland) Order 1997. The Report gave background information and commented on the application and indicated that the matter had been referred to the Committee as the applicant's agent was Mr Philip McLean, Member for the Plasterfield Ward.

It was agreed to recommend that:

(1) it be delegated to the Director for Sustainable Communities to grant planning permission for the erection of an office building to be used in terms of Classes 2 and 4 of the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) (Scotland) Order 1997 at Shawbost, Isle of Lewis, subject to the expiry of the statutory period for consideration of representations and subject to no objections being received before its determination, and;

(2) it be delegated to the Director for Sustainable Communities to determine the Schedule of Conditions relating to the abovementioned development.
