PLANNING APPLICATIONS

8C Lower Sandwick, Isle of Lewis

With reference to item 11 of the Minute of Meeting of 11 February 1998 the Director of Environmental Services submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission for the erection of a house at 8C Lower Sandwick, Isle of Lewis. The Report gave background information, commented on the application and indicated that a representation had been received.

The Planning Officer reported that the applicant had agreed to alter the location of the proposed dwelling house at 8C Lower Sandwick, Isle of Lewis and informed the Committee that the Director of Environmental Services now wished to recommend that planning permission for the erection of a house at 8C Lower Sandwick, Isle of Lewis be approved, on the basis that the house be located as shown on the amended plan submitted by the applicant.

It was agreed that the Director of Environmental Services be authorised to grant planning permission for the erection of a house at 8C Lower Sandwick, Isle of Lewis subject to:

(1) the house being located as shown on the amended plan submitted by the applicant; and

(2) the Comhairle's Scheme of Delegation.

Erection of Garage, 17 Airidhean Ur, Marybank, Isle of Lewis

With reference to item 12 of the Minute of Meeting of 11 February 1998 the Director of Environmental Services submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission for the erection of a domestic garage at 17 Airidhean Ur, Marybank, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. The Report gave background information, commented on the application and indicated that representations had been received.

   

It was agreed that the Director of Environmental Services be authorised to grant planning permission for the erection of a domestic garage at 17 Airidhean Ur, Marybank, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis subject to:

(1) the conditions detailed in the draft Decision Notice appended to the Report, on the basis that condition number 2 be amended to read as follows:

    "the garage to which this planning permission relates shall be used only for a purpose incidental to the enjoyment of the dwellinghouse. At no time throughout the life of the development, shall the garage be used for commercial purposes, including any work to any vehicle or item other than a vehicle or item which belongs to the residents of the dwelling, 17 Airidhean Ur."

    and

(2) the Comhairle's Scheme of Delegation.
