PLANNING APPLICATIONS

Construction of Livestock Auction Mart, Steinish

With reference to Item 59 of the Minute of Meeting of 11 March 1998 the Director of Environmental Services submitted a Report concerning an application for Reserved Matters Consent for the construction of a Livestock Auction Mart at Steinish, Isle of Lewis. The Report gave background information and indicated that the matter had been placed before the Committee in accordance with the Comhairle's previous decision.

The Legal Services Manager reported on the latest position with regard to the Section 75 Agreement.

The Director of Environmental Services recommended that subject to a Section 75 Agreement being concluded to the satisfaction of the Director of Corporate Services and outline planning permission being granted by the Director of Environmental Services and subject to there being no adverse representations within the 14 days following the validation of the Reserved Matters Application, the Director of Environmental Services be authorised to grant Reserved Matters Consent for the construction of a Livestock Auction Mart at Steinish, Isle of Lewis, subject to the conditions indicated at Appendix 1 of the Report.

It was agreed to recommend approval of the recommendation.
