PLANNING APPLICATIONS

The Director of Environmental Services submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission for the renewal of consent for a temporary building at North Rona which would be used by Scottish Natural Heritage for the study of seals and sea birds. The Report gave background information and commented on the application.

It was agreed that the Director of Environmental Services be authorised to grant planning permission for the renewal of a temporary building at North Rona subject to the conditions detailed in the draft Decision Notice appended to the Report and to the Comhairle's Scheme of Delegation.

Car Park opposite 109 Newmarket

The Director of Environmental Services submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission for the change of use of land to provide a parking area at a site opposite 109 Newmarket, Isle of Lewis. The Report gave background information, commented on the application and indicated that representations had been received.

It was agreed to recommend that the Director of Environmental Services be authorised to grant planning permission for the change of use of land to provide car parking at land opposite 109 Newmarket, Isle of Lewis, subject to the conditions detailed in the draft Decision Notice appended to the Report and to the Comhairle's Scheme of Delegation.

Mural, 22 Cromwell Street, Stornoway

The Chairman declared an interest in the undernoted item and took no part in the discussions relating to the item.

The Director of Environmental Services submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission to erect a mural on the gable of 22 Cromwell Street, Stornoway. The Report gave background information, commented on the application and indicated that the matter could not be dealt with in terms of the Comhairle's Scheme of Delegation as the application for planning permission had been submitted by Mr Norman L Macdonald, Member for the Goathill Ward.

It was agreed that the Director of Environmental Services be authorised to grant planning permission for the erection of a mural on the gable of 22 Cromwell Street, Stornoway, subject to the conditions detailed in the draft Decision Notice appended to the Report and to the Comhairle's Scheme of Delegation.

The Director of Environmental Services submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission for an extension to the house at 2 Airigh Ard, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. It was indicated in the Report that the matter had been referred to the Sub-Committee as the applicant, Mr S Crate, was a relative of an employee of the Comhairle.

It was agreed that the Director of Environmental Services be authorised to grant planning permission for an extension to the house at 2 Airigh Ard, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, subject to the conditions detailed in the draft Decision Notice appended to the Report and to the Comhairle's Scheme of Delegation.
