CONSTITUTION There was submitted a Note of the Procedure for the Hearing of Applicants and Objectors at Meetings of the Development Services Sub-Committee. It was agreed to note the Procedure. |

Alterations to Taigh Chearsabhagh, North Uist DS21.01 |

PLANNING APPLICATIONS The Acting Director of Environmental Services submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission and listed building consent for alterations to Taigh Chearsabhagh, Lochmaddy, North Uist. The Report gave background information, commented on the application and indicated that representations had been received. The Chairman invited Mr Donald Macdonald, Architect, Agent for the applicant and Mrs I Shaw, who had submitted representations in respect of the proposed development, to present their cases and to answer questions put by Members of the Sub-Committee. It was agreed that the Acting Director of Environmental Services be authorised to grant planning permission and listed building consent for alterations to Taigh Chearsabhagh, Lochmaddy, North Uist, on the terms of the Draft Decisions detailed in the Report. |

The Acting Director of Environmental Services submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission for the erection of a replacement Village Hall at Lochmaddy, North Uist. The Report gave background information, commented on the application and indicated that representations had been received. Mr Donald Macdonald, Architect, Agent for the applicant, was invited to present his case and to answer questions put by Members of the Sub-Committee. Mr and Mrs J Handysides, who had made representations in relation to the above application, did not attend the meeting. It was agreed that the Acting Director of Environmental Services be authorised to grant planning permission for the erection of a replacement Village Hall at Lochmaddy, North Uist, on the terms of the Draft Decision detailed in the Report. |
Arising out of consideration of the above item, the Sub-Committee agreed to: (1) request the Acting Director of Environmental Services to consider the appropriateness of including a Draft Decision Notice in Reports submitted to the Sub-Committee for planning permission and listed building consent; and (2) request the Director of Corporate Services to submit a Report to a future meeting of the Development Services Committee on the position of applicants in cases where the Comhairle was acting as Agent for the applicant. | ||
Haulage Use at Creagorry, Benbecula DS21.01 |

The Acting Director of Environmental Services submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission for the permanent use of land as a haulage depot at Bridge End, Creagorry, Benbecula. The Report gave background information, commented on the application and indicated that, as the proposal was regarded by the Acting Director of Environmental Services to be of a sensitive nature, he had not determined the matter in terms of the Scheme of Delegation. |
It was agreed that the Acting Director of Environmental Services be authorised to grant planning permission for the permanent use of land as a haulage depot at Bridge End, Creagorry, on the terms of the Draft Decision, detailed in the Report. | ||

The Acting Director of Environmental Services submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission for the erection of a new house at 10 Holm, Stornoway. The Report gave background information, commented on the application and indicated that representations had been received. It was recommended in the Report that the application for planning permission for the erection of a new house at 10 Holm, Stornoway, be refused in terms of the Draft Decision detailed in the Report. |
It was agreed that the Acting Director of Environmental Services be authorised to grant planning permission for the erection of a new house at 10 Holm, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, subject to: (1) the submission of a revised application for planning permission which satisfied the Civil Aviation Authority's limit of 21.9 metres; and | ||
(2) the Civil Aviation Authority submitting no representations on the revised application. It was further noted that, in the event of the Civil Aviation Authority submitting representations on the revised application for planning permission, the matter would be considered further by the Sub-Committee. | ||
