SCHOOL AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT | ||
It was agreed that the public, including the press, be excluded from the Meeting during consideration of the following item on the grounds that exempt information in terms of Schedule 7A of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as defined in Standing Order 26(i) would be disclosed, namely, any terms proposed or to be proposed by or to the Comhairle in the course of negotiation for a contract for the acquisition or disposal of property or supply of goods or services. | ||

With reference to item 7 of the Minute of Meeting of 11 December 1998 the Director of Technical Services submitted a Report detailing the tenders which had been received for Integrated Bus Transport contracts in Lewis, Harris and the Uists as part of the second round of tendering. Members were informed that operating costs for several services had been submitted by the Comhairle. It was confirmed that Contract Services Committee did not have any input to the submission of such costs as bus services were not a defined activity of the DSO. It was noted that the costs had been submitted by the Technical Services Department to reflect the costs to the Comhairle of operating these services in its capacity as Education Authority. It was agreed to accept or re-tender contracts for School and Public Transport Contracts as detailed in the Appendix to the Minute. |
