CONSTITUTION

It was agreed to appoint Mr Norman L Macdonald as Chairman of the Meeting.

TEACHING STAFF

It was agreed that the public, including the press, be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item, on the grounds that exempt information in terms of Schedule 7A of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as defined in Standing Order 26(a) would be disclosed, namely, information relating to employees of or applicants to become employees of the Comhairle would be disclosed.

Headteacher, Carloway Primary School

The Director of Corporate Services submitted the job advertisement, job description, person specification and report of applications received for the post of Headteacher, Carloway Primary School.

The Committee noted the documents submitted a proceeded to interview the following candidate:

Mrs Seonaid Gunn

After the interval and a full discussion of the merits of the candidate, it was agreed to recommend the appointment of Mrs Seonaid Gunn to the post of Headteacher, Carloway Primary School.

Mrs Gunn was invited into the Meeting and informed that the Committee would be recommending that she be appointed to the post of Headteacher, Carloway Primary School.

Mrs Gunn confirmed her willingness to accept an offer of appointment to the post from the Acting Director of Education and Leisure Services following the Committee's recommendation.
