		CONSTITUTION
Chairman C02.01	58	The Committee Services Manager chaired the Meeting and called for nominations for Chairman of the Committee for the twelve months to May 2000. Mr Donald M Mackay, seconded by Mr Finlay Morrison moved the election of Mr Norman L Macdonald. There being no further nominations, the Committee Services Manager declared Mr Norman L Macdonald duly elected as Chairman of the Committee for the twelve months to May 2000.
Vice-Chairman C02.01	59	The Chairman called for nominations for Vice-Chairman of the Committee for the twelve months to May 2000. Mr Ian M Macleod, seconded by Norman M Macleod, moved the election of Mrs Morag Munro. There being no further nominations, the Chairman declared Mrs Morag Munro duly elected as Vice-Chairman of the Committee for the twelve months to May 2000.
Appointments to Sub-Committees E08.11 E08.05	60	The Director of Corporate Services submitted a Report concerning the Sub-Committee and the Joint Consultative Committee of the Committee. The Report gave information on their constitution, functions and status and set out any constraints on the appointment of Members to the Sub-Committee and the Joint Consultative Committee. The Committee was invited to appoint Members to the Sub-Committee and the Joint Consultative Committee, other than ex-officio Members.
		It was agreed: (i) that the Members of the Education Sub-Committee be as detailed below: Mr Ian M Macleod Mr Norman L Macdonald Mr Philip R McLean Mr Finlay Morrison Mrs Morag Munro Mr Archibald K Campbell Mr David Blaney
		(ii) to recommend that the following Members be appointed to the Joint Consultative Committee (Teaching Staff): Mr David Blaney Mr Archibald K Campbell Mr Donald I Nicholson Mr Norman L Macdonald Mr Norman M Macleod Mrs Morag Munro Mr Iain Morrison
		(iii) that the Members of the Lochs School Sub-Committee be as detailed below: Mr Finlay Morrison Mr Norman L Macdonald Mrs Morag Munro Mr Donald M Mackay Mr Alexander A Macdonald
		(iv) to recommend that the following Members be appointed to the Gaelic Development Sub-Committee: Mr Alexander A Macdonald Mr Malcolm J Macleod Mrs Morag Munro Mr Donald M Mackay
		(v) to recommend that the following Members be appointed to the Education and Transportation Joint Sub-Committee: Mr Norman L Macdonald Mrs Morag Munro Mr Donald Maclean Mr David Blaney Mr Finlay Morrison
Appointments to Working Parties E08.12	61	The Director of Corporate Services submitted a Report concerning Working Parties of the Committee. The Report gave information on their constitution, functions and status, and set out any constraints on the appointment of Members to the Working Parties. The Committee was invited to appoint Members to the Working Parties, other than ex-officio Members.
