The Principal Administrator chaired the meeting and called for nominations for Chairman of the Meeting. It was agreed to appoint Mr Roderick Macdonald as Chairman of the Meeting. |
TEACHING STAFF | ||
It was agreed that, in accordance with the provisions of Schedule 7A of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, the Press and Public be excluded from the Meeting during consideration of the following item on the grounds defined in Standing Order 26(a), namely, that exempt information relating to employees of the Comhairle would be disclosed. | ||

The Chairman welcomed Mr Graham Harcus, Independent Adviser, to the Meeting and invited Mr Harcus to give a Report on the applications received for the post of Head Teacher, The Nicolson Institute. Mr Harcus submitted a Report on the applications received. It was agreed: (1) that insufficient applications had been received for the posts of Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher (2) and Assistant Head Teacher (4) at The Nicolson Institute to enable short leets to be drawn up and that these posts be advertised nationally; (2) all the present applicants continue to be considered for the posts applied for; and (3) the Shortleeting Sub-Committee meet in early April 1999 to consider both current and any new applicants. |
