It was agreed to appoint Mr Roderick Macdonald as Chairman of the Meeting.

The Minute of Meeting of 9 March 1999 was approved.

EDUCATION AND LEISURE SERVICES DEPARTMENT

It was agreed that, in accordance with the provisions of Schedule 7A of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, the Press and Public be excluded from the Meeting during consideration of the following 6 items on the grounds defined in Standing Order 26(a), namely, that exempt information relating to employees of the Comhairle would be disclosed.

Combined Schools: Implementation Framework

The Director of Corporate Services submitted a Report concerning the Combined School Implementation Framework

It was agreed to note the Report.

The Chairman welcomed Mr Graham Harcus, Independent Adviser, to the Meeting and invited Mr Harcus to give a Report on the applications received for the post of Head Teacher, The Nicolson Institute. Mr Harcus submitted a Report on the applications received.

It was agreed to recommend that the post of Head Teacher, The Nicolson Institute be readvertised on a permanent basis.

Depute Headteacher (Academic), The Nicolson Institute

The Chairman invited Mr Harcus to give a Report on the applications received for the post of Depute Head Teacher (Academic), The Nicolson Institute. Mr Harcus submitted a Report on the applications received.
