		PLANNING APPLICATIONS
Extension to St Peter's Church, Francis Street, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis DS21.01	1	Members of the Committee were afforded an opportunity to visit the site at St Peter's Church, Francis Street, Stornoway prior to the start of the meeting. With reference to item 14 of the Minute of Meeting of 30 January 2002 the Director for Sustainable Communities submitted a Report concerning an application for planning permission for the construction of an extension to St Peter's Church, Francis Street, Stornoway. The application involved providing a meeting room, small kitchenette and a disabled toilet facility. The Report commented on the application and indicated that representations had been received. It was agreed that: (1) Historic Scotland be advised of the intention of the Comhairle to grant Listed Building Consent for the listed building application (01/00391); and (2) the planning application (01/00389) be approved, subject to the conditions shown in Appendix 1 of the Report.
Erect New Arts Centre, Louise Carnegie Car Park, Kenneth Street, Stornoway DS21.01	2	With reference to item 21 of the Minute of Meeting of 30 January 2002 the Director for Sustainable Communities submitted a Report concerning an application to erect a new Arts Centre, Louise Carnegie Car Park, Kenneth Street, Stornoway. The Report detailed the applicant's response to issues raised by the Committee in respect of the roofing materials and the South Beach facade. It was agreed that the Comhairle grant planning permission subject to the conditions detailed in Appendix 1 of the Report and that further negotiations on condition 5 be undertaken and a further Report be submitted to the Committee in respect of the roofing material used.
