It was agreed that, in accordance with the provisions of Schedule 7 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, the public, including the press, be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following Item on the grounds defined in Standing Order 26(f), namely, that exempt information which if disclosed to the public would reveal information regarding the financial or business affairs of any particular person. | ||
Application for Assent to Establish an Explosives Magazine CH04.11.65 |

The Director of Corporate Services submitted a Report concerning an application for assent to establish an explosives magazine at Ludaig, South Uist by R J Macleod (Contractors) Ltd. Any person or body wishing to establish an explosives magazine must apply for a licence to the Health and Safety Executive and then seek the Local Authorities consent for the establishment of the magazine. The Report detailed the draft licence which had been agreed with the Health and Safety Executive and indicated that, following advertisement in the local press, no objections to the application had been received. |
It was agreed to approve R J Macleod (Contractors) Ltd's application for assent to establish an explosive magazine at Ludaig, South Uist. | ||
Application for Petrol Licence CH04.10 |

The Acting Director of Environmental Services submitted a report concerning an application for a Petrol Licence from Lochs Services Ltd. The Report indicated that the sole Director of Lochs Services Ltd was Mr Angus Campbell, Elected Member for the Newton Electoral Division, with the consequence that the application could not be dealt with under delegated powers. The Report further indicated that the application was deemed competent and inspections of the revealed no reason for refusal. |
It was agreed to approve the application for a Petrol Licence received from Lochs Services Ltd. |
