The Minute of Meeting of 21 June 1999 was approved.

LICENSING

Public Entertainment Licence

The Director of Corporate Services submitted a Report concerning a request for a Public Entertainment Licence by Proiseact nan Ealan for a Ceilidh Dance commencing at 9.00 pm on 31 December 1999 and continuing until 9.00 am 1 January 2000. The Report detailed the background to the case and outlined the comments which had been received by the Police and the Firemaster.

The representative of the Director of Corporate Services together with the applicants and their representative, Councillor Norman M Macleod were invited into the meeting. An opportunity was afforded to the representatives of the Director of Corporate Services and Mr Macleod to present their respective cases and members of the Sub-Committee were afforded the opportunity to ask questions of the representative of the Director of Corporate Services and Cllr Macleod.

It was agreed that, in view of the exceptional circumstances, the request for a Public Entertainment Licence for Proiseact nan Ealan be granted.
