The Democratic Services Manager called for nominations for Chairman of the Sub-Committee for the period to 27 August 2001. |
It was agreed to suspend paragraph 10(f) of the Scheme of Administration to enable the appointment of a Chairman for a period of less that twelve months. | ||
On the motion of Mr Alex A Macdonald, seconded by Mr Roderick J Murray, it was agreed to appoint Donald I Nicholson as Chairman of the Sub-Committee. | ||

The Business Plan for the Comhairle's Departments were submitted as follows: Chief Executive's Office Business Plan 2001/02 to 2003/04 Corporate Services Business Plan Housing Department Business Plan 2000/03 Education Department Business Plan Ionmhas Services Plan Social Work Department Business Plan Department for Sustainable Communities Business Plan Technical Services Business Plan |
Each Business Plan set out the objectives of the Department, the Statutory Duties, Performance Information relating to the Department and each Department's Service Plans for the period of the Business Plan. | ||
It was agreed to recommend that: (1) the Housing, Corporate Services, Chief Executive's Office and Technical Services Departmental Business Plans be approved; (2) the remaining Departmental Business Plans be approved subject to satisfactory quality assurance and revision, if necessary; (3) In line with Corporate Management Team Aim 4 (Corporate Strategy) the Departmental Business Plans are used as the basis for staff development and appraisal interviews with all SDA's completed by 30 September 2001; and (4) Departments prepare a short briefing paper for the August series of meetings covering the following points: · Who are you? (a short description of the Department, its vision/aims) · What are you? (an outline key functions and resources) · What does the Comhairle want of you? (relevant key aims from the Corporate Strategy) · What will you be doing? (Key objectives and targets for the year) to facilitate debate and discussion on the priorities for services over the coming year. | ||
