Renewal of Taxi Driver's Licence CH04.06 |

The Director of Corporate Services submitted a Report concerning an application for a renewal of a Taxi Driver's Licence by Mr Murdo Maciver. The Report indicated that the applicant was the husband of a member of staff within the Licensing Section and, as a consequence, the application could not be dealt with under delegated powers. It was agreed that Mr Murdo Maciver's application for renewal of his Taxi Driver's Licence, reference D183, be approved. |
Request for 40mph Speed Limit: A859 at Cameron Terrace |
3 |
The Director of Technical Services submitted a Report concerning requests for a 40mph speed limit on the A859 at Cameron Terrace. The introduction of a Filling Station and construction traffic associated with the new school meant the area in question was a congested section of main road. Comhairle housing adjacent to the road together with associated parking was also causing problems and the community had expressed concerns about the situation once the new school became operational. It was agreed that the Director of Technical Services be authorised to; (1) implement a 40mph speed limit at Cameron Terrace between the entrance to the new school and the Doctor's Surgery; and (2) submit a Report to the Sub-Committee detailing proposals to enhance the location with the implementation of further traffic calming measures in conjunction with the Community Council. |
