TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

Traffic Order: South Beach Quay, Stornoway

The Director of Technical Services submitted a Report indicating that representations had been received for the introduction of a Traffic Order at South Beach Quay, Stornoway. The Report gave details of the proposals, together with the police view.

It was agreed that double yellow lines be placed on both sides of the corner to the rear of the Bus Station at South Beach Quay for a distance of 50 metres or thereby, as shown on the drawing enclosed with the Report.

Traffic Order: Shell Street, Stornoway

The Director of Technical Services submitted a Report concerning the implementation of a Traffic Order on Shell Street, Stornoway. An outline of the proposals was given, together with the police view.

It was agreed that double yellow lines, preventing parking at any time, be applied to the radius to the new Ferry Terminal bellmouth, followed by a single yellow line along Shell Street to the mini-roundabout, restricting parking to 20 minutes in any one hour, all as per the drawing enclosed with the Report.

Traffic Order: Tarbert

The Director of Technical Services submitted a Report concerning the implementation of a Traffic Order in Tarbert. An outline of the proposals was given, together with the police view.

It was agreed that double yellow lines be applied on both sides of both junctions to Sir E Scott School for a distance of 25 metres in each case as per the drawing enclosed with the Report.

Newton Traffic Calming Trial

The Director of Technical Services submitted a Report concerning the traffic calming trial at Newton. A summary was given of the findings of the trial.

It was agreed to note the Report.

Modification of Draft Speed Limit Order on A865 at Creagorry

With reference to Item 4 of the Minute of Meeting of 12 February 1997, the Director of Technical Services submitted a Report concerning a modification of the draft 40mph speed restriction proposals for Creagorry following representations received during the consultation period.

It was agreed to modify the limit of the draft 40mph speed restriction order to read:

"On the A865 at Creagorry from a point 100 metres north of Creagorry Hotel to a point 40 metres south of Ford Terrace junction, including Princes Street and Ford Terrace, an overall length of 900m or thereby, all as per the drawing enclosed with the Report."
