School Visits
Museum nan Eilean encourages visits by schools to its exhibitions. If you are planning a school visit, please ring the museum to make a booking by telephone: 01851 709266 by e-mail: rlanghorne@cne-siar.gov.uk . Let us know the date and time you would like to make the visit and the numbers of pupils you will be bringing. If you would like help in planning your visit, we will be delighted to help - ring or e-mail us with your enquiries. If you can, we would also recommend you visit the exhibition before your school visit.

It is a fun, dynamic, hands-on display, which explores how we learn about Scotland's past. It contains a fantastic range of real and replica objects to make any visit a real hands-on experience. It is hoped they will also be able to make school visits to talk about the exhibition, learning from objects and museums and the curriculum. We will only know whether such visits will be possible once we know the extent of bookings for the exhibition. Organising a Visit The National Museums recommend that classes allow at least 1½ hours per visit. Classes should be split into three groups to work with the facilitators and teacher in using the exhibition. The exhibition is more particularly targeted at 7-14 year olds.
