Work is ongoing in relation to the appointment of a Private Sector Delivery Partner (PSDP) for the Comhairle’s Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). Discussions have been held and are ongoing with the four PSDP candidates
A meeting was held in October with Benbecula Community Association where access to the proposed new school site was discussed in view of the plans for a new Community Hall on an adjacent site in Balivanich
A conservation survey has been instructed in respect of the Nicolson Institute’s Pentland Building (Springfield North) to explore options for incorporating the building into the new school
The Comhairle has agreed that a further report be submitted in repect of Point School looking at the possible retention of the existing Games Hall or Primary School for conversion to community facilities and the financial implications of that. Work is ongoing in relation to this
The Project Manager and Senior Architect were invited to attend the Nicolson Institute School Board on 9 November to discuss the PPP Project
The Comhairle is continuing to work towards identifying the finance to bridge the affordability gap for the Project. Legal, Technical, Finance and Education work is also ongoing in relation to the Project
A meeting was held in October with the Childcare Partnership development Officer to discuss the pre-school elements of the Project. As a result of this meeting, the Childcare Partnership intend to set up a working group that will advise on standard requirements for pre-school education
