Initial tenders have been received from the shortlisted Private Sector Development Partner (PSDP) candidates. Two of the shortlisted candidates have joined forces and so although four candidates were shortlisted only three initial tenders have been received. Formal dialogue meetings with the PSDP candidates will take place in January 2007
At the November Project Board meeting, it was agreed to recommend to the Comhairle that the Comhairle proceeds to commence the initial design phase of the Project immediately. This recommendation will be put to the December series of meetings. If approved, this could advance the Project timetable by several months
As part of the process of consultation on design, it is envisaged that an educational consultant be appointed to the Project. This proposed appointment is subject to approval by the Comhairle
Investigations and discussions are still ongoing in relation to financial modelling of the hybrid model. It is hoped to have initial figures available in time for the Comhairle’s December meeting
A meeting was held with the Head Teachers of all the Project Schools on 5 December when an informative presentation on good design in schools was given by the Comhairle’s Senior Architect
