CHILD PROTECTION COMMITTEE STATEMENT |

| At its regular meeting today the Western Isles Inter-Agency Child Protection Committee considered an interim report from the Social Work Services Inspectorate on the recent child protection case.
A spokesperson for the Child Protection Committee said: “At a productive meeting the Social Work Services Inspectorate presented their interim report as previously agreed. The complexity of the case was emphasised but the main point was that the report is very much at a ‘work in progress’ stage. No conclusions have been drawn and no recommendations have been made. The Comhairle and its partners will continue to co-operate fully with the Inspectorate. The CPC will continue to work on development and improvement in delivering children’s services and the report from SWSI will form part of that process".
