WELCOME FOR AMEC APPOINTMENT

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has welcomed AMEC’s appointment of Kevin Murray as Development Manager in the Western Isles.

Convener Alex MacDonald said: “This appointment is very welcome, although many would say that it should have been made earlier. AMEC have sometimes been accused of not providing enough information and this post should help to keep people informed of AMEC’s plans. It will also provide a local point of contact to deal with the many questions that people have over the company’s windfarm proposal. I am sure Kevin will have much to contribute to the current debates taking place in the Western Isles about renewable energy and windfarms and I wish him well in his post”
