The report by the Scottish Local Authority Renumeration Committee offers many interesting proposals regarding the future of local democracy and specifically regarding Councillors’ remuneration payments.

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar welcomes moves to enhance local democracy and open up opportunities for a wider range of people to consider council membership.

An initial report will go to next week’s meeting of the Comhairle’s Policy and Resources Committee.
