Comhairle Sets Budget |

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has set a budget for 2006/07 with a Band D figure of £999, an increase of 4.5%. The move will result in an average increase of 47p per week for Council tax payers in the Western Isles. At a full meeting of the Comhairle today, Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee, Vice-Convener Angus Campbell, said: "Delivering best value services remains the Comhairle’s number one priority and we will continue to seek efficiencies in delivering them."
