In response to media enquiries Comhairle nan Eilean Siar confirms that a request has been made to the Scottish Executive for information relating to a Questions Session in the Scottish Parliament where the issue of the NHS Western Isles was raised.

The request has been made under the terms of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act and asks for information regarding the ‘senior councillors’ whom the Minister for Health stated had written to his colleagues regarding the conduct of the Health Board.

Under the Freedom of Information legislation the Scottish Executive has 20 working days to respond to the Comhairle’s request for information or to claim an exemption under the Act.
