West Hollywood, California – May 8, 2006 – Mad Brit Films Press Office proudly announced in
Hollywood today the Scottish Screening of the Documentary 14 Days in Great Britain, this May 15th
2006. This documentary screening hosted by An Lanntair Art Centre and supported by regional
agencies, represents the second of ten annual journeys across the world, part of a long-term production.
This also marks the second of nine screening and exhibition events across the United Kingdom this
summer.
This unique film provides a stunningly visual performance combined with strong narrative, defining the
vision of an important long-term project. The film aims to capture the hearts and minds of people around
the United Kingdom and the world.
Special celebrity guest David William Gibbons Executive Producer and Creator of the 14 Days project
visiting from Hollywood Los Angeles, will talk after the screening on the project’s vision and long-term
goals. The film is the project in a series aimed at providing grassroots information about people and the
places they choose to live around the world. Fourteen locations were explored throughout Great Britain
with the project in this area being captured in August.
The long-term aim of the series is to look beyond everyday realities in search of people's true ambitions,
aspirations and needs. By identifying this information, a communication terminal will be developed with
the capability of reaching people all over the planet. It is hoped that the power of photography and film
can improve understanding across international borders, breaking down formalities and fear of the
unknown.
David Gibbons, Executive Producer of Lighthouse Group, which is responsible for the project said:
“Fourteen Days in Great Britain is extremely excited about returning to Stornoway. The
response we received from all the communities was fantastic and it is going to be a great
pleasure to present the work that the people of this beautiful island helped us to create.
This event signifies the ongoing three month UK tour that will highlight the incredible
people that live in this beautiful country.”

“Fine art still portraits together with a fine blend of film documentary have captured the
information we gather, in order to build a historical archive of photographs and film footage. The
film including selected short interviews accompanied with footage from each place we have visited
provides a unique insight into the people and places of Great Britain.”
The Fourteen Days in Great Britain project is returning to Stornoway for this very special film
screening. On Monday, May 15 An Lanntair Art Centre will host the film.
