More people and organisations will have facts and figures about the Outer Hebrides at their fingertips, quite literally, following the launch of a new promotional information tool by the Outer Hebrides Community Planning Partnership.

The Outer Hebrides Fact card is a compact and informative leaflet giving a statistical snapshot of life in the Islands and photos of Island scenes.

Target audiences for the fact card include local, national and international politicians, government officials and policy makers and other interested parties. In addition, the card will be available to individuals and businesses in the Outer Hebrides, including students, school leavers, entrepreneurs, existing businesses and public agencies. Potential inward investors and migrants are also possible target groups for the distribution of the cards.

Chairman of the Outer Hebrides Community Planning partnership, Mr Alex MacDonald, said: "This is a useful tool both for people and agencies within the islands and for those further afield. There is much to be proud of in the Isles and this is another opportunity to promote the Outer Hebrides in a positive light".

The initial print run for the cards was 4000 and the design emphasises the high quality of life in the Outer Hebrides.
