Proposals to introduce a new Benbecula to Inverness air service by Highland Airways have been welcomed by Cllr Donald Manford, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Chairman of Transportation.

He said; “I welcome the initiative taken by Highland Airways in seeking to provide an additional service. I am grateful to all the individuals and community groups that have worked to make the case for this service and in particular I want to thank our MSP Alasdair Morrison, MP Angus Macneil and my colleagues on the Comhairle for their unstinting support in bringing this proposal about. I thank my colleagues for their support”

It is proposed that the service will start in September.
