Commenting on the establishment of a Credit Union for the Western Isles, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Vice-Convener, Angus Campbell, said: “Setting up a Credit Union for the Western Isles has been a key objective of this Comhairle and I’m delighted that the necessary Financial Services Authority approval has been secured. This is another fine example of a project that will benefit the whole community of the Western Isles. On behalf of the Comhairle I’d like to congratulate everybody involved with this scheme.”

He added, “I’d like to urge everybody in the Western Isles regardless of their circumstances to become members of the Credit Union as soon as the new office is up and running.”
