The Comhairle is aware of the expected high tides over the next few days and has made some provision to deal with the possible effects of these tides on low lying properties.

Although the tides are higher than seen for a number of years the effect on low lying properties is likely to be minimal due to the weather conditions expected over the period.

The Comhairle holds a limited stock of filled sandbags in their roads depots which can be made available to low lying householders for self help purposes.

The Comhairle will continue to monitor the situation over the high tide periods.
