The Arts and Museums sections of the Comhairle will be hosting a Heritage and Arts Seminar on 10-11 November in An Lanntair.
The event will open with the Convenor of the Comhairle welcoming delegates and launching the Outer Hebrides Cultural Strategy (2006-10).
The aim of the event is primarily to provide a networking opportunity for community arts and heritage organisations with a view towards developing an Outer Hebrides Community Cultural Network.
The programme on Friday will update delegates on the Museum’s Links Partnerships for Change programme, Comainn Eachdraidh funding and there will also be a session on Skills Building for the Future. The afternoon will round-up with a discussion on the concept of an Outer Hebrides Community Cultural Network – what it could be, how it could work.
On Friday evening, representatives from Highland 2007 will network organisations in the Outer Hebrides who are either programming or planning an event and will provide the opportunity to find out more about what is happening elsewhere, marketing and PR.
Saturday will be a HI Arts session on marketing and audience development training for arts and heritage organisations as part of Highland 2007 and beyond.
The event has been funded by:
Highland 2007, Hi Arts Ltd. and Skills Building for the Future
