Mattel Toys have recalled two million products in the UK after fears were raised about their safety.  Investigations by the Trading Standards Service of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar have discovered that some of these products have been sold in the Western Isles.

The products concerned include the “Sarge” die cast car, Barbie and Tanner Scooper Accessory and various Mattel magnetic toys including some Polly Pocket, Batman and Doggie Daycare brands.

A Comhairle spokesperson said: “I would urge everyone to check their children’s toys and if they think they might have one of the suspect products to remove it and seek further advice.”
