The Convener of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Mr Alex MacDonald, has sent a message of congratulations and support to mark the official opening of the Office of Gaelic Affairs in Nova Scotia today.
The message reads:
As leth Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, bu mhath leam mealla-naidheachd agus gach deagh dhùrachd a nochdadh do Riaghaltas Alba Nuadh air Fosgladh Oifigeil Oifis Iomairtean na Gàidhlig, anns a’ Bhaile Mòr, Alba Nuadh. Tha sinn uile a’ guidhe gu soirbhich gu math leibh agus gun tèid na h-Iomairtean bho neart gu neart.
On behalf of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, I would like to extend congratulations and best wishes to the Nova Scotia Government on the Official Opening of the Office of Gaelic Affairs, in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. We wish you every success and hope that the Offices will go from strength to strength.
The Comhairle is also sending a formal charter to the Office, which reads as follows:
