Mr Harry Miller, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Head of Health and Consumer Services, is to be awarded a fellowship of the Trading Standards Institute.
The award is being made to recognize ‘outstanding work for the Institute and the Trading Standards profession’.
Mr Malcolm Burr, Chief Executive of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, said: “It is testimony to the quality of staff at the Comhairle that one of our officers is being recognized in this way. Congratulations are due to Harry who has put in many years of service for the Comhairle on behalf of the people of the Western Isles. Working together with national organisations such as the Trading Standards Institute has many spin off benefits for the Western Isles as was evidenced by the securing of Consumer Direct for the Islands”.
The Trading Standards Institute will present the award at their 2008 Conference in Bournemouth.
