Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Northern Constabulary are monitoring weather conditions in the Western Isles as high winds and rain are expected to move in from midnight tonight through to Sunday. Drivers in the Western Isles should exercise caution.

Winds up to 70-80 mph and heavy rain are predicted.

Causeways and Scalpay Bridge may be affected. High tides occur between 8am and 8.30 in the morning and between 20.30 and 21.00 in the evening.

The Comhairle and the Police will continue to monitor the situation and further information will be issued as appropriate
