Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Northern Constabulary Joint Press Release

Severe weather is anticipated for the Western Isles area for tonight and tomorrow morning.

It is expected that the worst weather period will be between 2.00am Friday 1 February 2008 and 12.00 noon Friday when there will be very high winds combined with snow showers.

There is a risk of disruption to power supplies overnight.

Travelling during peak period tomorrow morning may be difficult in some areas.  Drivers are asked to exercise extra care.

The Comhairle and Northern Constabulary will continue to monitor the situation and issue further advice as appropriate.
