Comhairle nan Eilean Siar PRESS RELEASE 17 May 2002 For Use: Immediately |
|
|
Trading Standards officers at Comhairle nan Eilean Siar have issued a warning over a letter being received by businesses which asks for the recipients account details. A number of Island businesses have received such letters which purport to come from South Africa. The letter claims that the author has substantial money to invest and they are looking for someone in this country to help.
A spokesperson for the Comhairle said: The best advice is to put these
letters in the bin. On no account should details of private financial information
be sent by anyone who receives such a letter.
