Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy will be the themes of an open seminar to be held at Lews Castle College on 27 June 2002 organised by WIAREP (Western Isles Alternative and Renewable Energy Partnership.
The event is open to everyone and will include key speakers from the Scottish Energy Efficiency Office, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, SNH and the Western Isles Community Action for Energy Project.
The evening seminar will be chaired by David Currie of WIAREP and is sponsored by the Scottish Energy Efficiency Office. WIAREP is made up of representatives from Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Western Isles Enterprise, Scottish Natural Heritage, Western Isles NHS Board, Lews Castle College (UHI Millennium Institute) and Tighean Innse Gall.
Mr. Currie, Chairman of WIAREP, said: This will provide an opportunity
for anyone to have their questions answered on what is an area of huge potential
for the Western Isles. It will also provide an opportunity to promote energy
efficiency and renewable energy and the role that WIAREP has in taking that
important job forward.
