9/11 Anniversary Approaches

Whilst September 11 is the anniversary of the Twin Towers atrocity and the date of the opening of the Eriskay Causeway, the Comhairle will be operating on a ‘business as usual’ basis.

Director of Corporate Services, Mrs Helen Froud, said: “Whilst it is unlikely that there will be any cause for concern, we are, of course, aware of the significance of the anniversary. All Comhairle services, in line with other agencies in the Western Isles, will be operating on a business as usual level.”

A minute's silence will be observed at the opening of the Eriskay Causeway and prayers will be said in remembrance of the victims of the terrorist attacks in the USA.
