Doorstep Warning

Trading Standards Officers have issued the following advice to consumers in the Western Isles regarding doorstep selling.

A spokesperson said:
“Don’t let persuasive sellers convince you to buy goods or services you don’t need. Don’t ask a doorstep seller to call, or give them your personal details such as addresses and telephone unless you’re sure you want to buy. Remember doorstep sellers are trained to get people to buy, and they can be extremely persuasive. “
