SURVEY ON MINIBUS USAGE

18 Ocotber 2002

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has sent out questionnaires this week to over 500 voluntary groups in the Western Isles to gather information on current and future demand for minibuses. The survey is part of a review group that involves the Comhairle, Western Isles NHS Board and the Voluntary Sector. The group will be working together to develop a sustainable partnership solution to meet the high level of demand for minibuses throughout the islands.

Chief Executive Bill Howat explained:
“Following the recent debate on minibuses provided by the Community Education Service, the Comhairle’s Management Team felt that a better way of providing this service could be found by working with our partners in the public and voluntary sector. The review group have been asked to report back with their findings by the end of the year”

An electronic copy of the questionnaire is available on the Chief Executive's Office page of the Comhairle’s web site. www.cne-siar.gov.uk/cxdir/index.htm
