Public Entertainment Licences

All Public Entertainment Licence Applications in the Western Isles will be considered on their individual merits, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar agreed today.

The Comhairle also noted senior Counsel’s opinion that it is lawful to continue imposing standard conditions on public entertainment licences restricting activity on Sunday; providing it is justified on the basis of amenity and that all future applications are considered on their own merits.

The Comhairle agreed to establish a Civic Government Licensing Panel to consider individual applications.
