| The Chairman of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Transportation Committee, Donald Manford, said - “The Scottish Executive has stated that the West Coast Ferry tendering process was a requirement of European Union legislation. Following the EU decision of 24 July this would appear to have evaporated. It would also appear that there is no reason to continue with the tendering exercise and I will, therefore, be seeking immediate clarification from the Scottish Executive on this matter”.
